The assignment was to retell a famous fairy tale with the villain coming out triumphant in 50 words or less… very difficult… this was my entry…


BAD HARE DAY


The shell spun wildly across the asphalt, slamming into a tree with an enormous crack, and coming to rest upside-down in the culvert. The concern that washed over the crowd of forest creatures when they had first spied the shining monstrosity coming up the road had turned into abject horror when they heard the growl of the engine revving up. “Rabbits don’t just run fast, turtle.” He exclaimed, jeering from his Mustang.
